J. Crew Opens Men’s Shop At Empire Stores
DUMBO – Joining the roster of retails shops and eateries opening up in DUMBO, J. Crew debuts a Men’s Shop at 55 Water Street today.
Located in the Empire Stores complex by the Brooklyn waterfront, the 2,100-square-foot shop will feature J.Crew’s men’s collection as well as a selection of local fashion, grooming, and home brands including American Heirloom (tableware and barware), Brooklyn Candle Studio (handcrafted candles), Druthers (men’s undergarments), Only NY (casual wear), and more.
There will also be an in-store outpost of Fellow Barber with six stations so visitors can pick up grooming products or get a haircut or shave while shopping, for a “one-stop shop” experience that takes care of their “styling needs from head to toe.”

Crew. “That collaborative energy sparked our new retail concept in partnership with Fellow Barber. Together we’ve created a real neighborhood magnet — a daily destination for great clothing, expert grooming and local knowledge. We’re excited to welcome our neighbors in, and make the store their own.”
To celebrate its new home, J. Crew will host an opening party next Wednesday, August 8, from 6pm to 9pm with ice cream from DUMBO neighbor Oddfellows and beer from Threes Brewing.
The new J. Crew men’s outpost is in good company at the Empire Stores, joining the DUMBO satellite location of the Brooklyn Historical Society, FEED Shop & Café, Cecconi’s, Celestine, Smile To Go, Sugarcane Raw Bar Grill, West Elm, and more. The exclusive members only club DUMBO House debuted in June, and a 21,000-square-foot Time Out Market is slated to open later this year.
