SUNSET PARK – Yesterday, a body was found floating in the waters of the Bay Ridge Channel, off Sunset Park, police confirmed.

Police responded to the 911 call around 8:45 am on Wednesday, November 1, with NYPD Harbor Units at the scene. The body of an unconscious and unresponsive woman was brought to Pier 4, at 58th Street, police said.

EMS pronounced the woman deceased at the scene. The medical examiner will determine the cause of death.

Unfortunately, this year has seen a spate of bodies found in the waters off Brooklyn. In June, a body was found in the Kings Plaza Marina.

In May, a dead man was pulled from the East River at the Brooklyn Bridge.

Before that, in April, a badly decomposed body was found floating near the Mill Basin Bridge, just weeks after the body of a man was pulled from the Gowanus canal.
