Wednesday Crime Blotter: A Tag-Team Robbery at an L Train Station and a Second Look For Suspects
EAST NEW YORK – A teenager was accosted by two men in an East New York L train station over the weekend and police have now released video of the robbers.
The incident took place on Saturday, August 25, around 2:45 pm at the Livonia Avenue station. As the 18-year old male victim was walking up the stairs to the platform, he was grabbed by an unknown man who threatened to hit him, said police.
The suspect rummaged the victim’s pockets, stealing an iPhone 8 Plus. A second robber approached and took two shopping bags from the victim, before both fled to parts unknown, leaving the victim unharmed.

CROWN HEIGHTS – After a man brutally threw a woman to the ground in a robbery, police have released another surveillance video of the suspect.
The attack happened near Bergen Street and Schenectady Avenue in Crown Heights, just before midnight on Wednesday, August 8, said police. Grabbing the victim in a chokehold, the robber threw her to the ground behind a parked car, stealing her bag before fleeing down Bergen Street.
The victim suffered bruising and small cuts to her face, neck and body—she was treated by EMS. In the backpack, she lost her cell phone and an electronic tablet, said police.

PROSPECT LEFFERTS GARDEN – Following an assault on an MTA train conductor at the Prospect Park Q stop, police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the perpetrator.
The 60-year old motorman was bringing the 1101 Q train out of 96th Street into the Prospect Park station just before noon on Tuesday, June 19, said police. After opening the doors of the southbound train to let passengers off, the victim opened his window to check the track—when he was punched in the face by an unknown assailant.
The blow knocked the 60-year old man unconscious, causing him to fall to the ground, scraping his face, said police. He was treated for his injuries at Kings County Hospital. The suspect exited the station and headed down Flatbush Avenue—a surveillance photo of the suspect can be seen below:
CYPRESS HILLS – A late night assault on an MTA driver was caught on camera this weekend after an A train went express and irate straphangers, angry that they missed their stop, began punching the motorman through the window of his cabin—and police are still looking for the suspects.
The assault took place on Saturday, August 11, around 4:40 am, inside the Grant Avenue Station. A man and a woman were caught on tape punching the 62-year old MTA employee, who suffered bruising and small lacerations to his face.
The suspects fled in an unknown direction, but can be seen on a video captured by a bystander:
