MILL BASIN – About 30 people were injured after a school bus collided with a car this morning.

At about 9:20 a.m., a school bus, which was carrying adults with special needs, crashed into a car that was going in the opposite direction at Avenue U and East 61st Street. The driver of the car, Trevor Eady, was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operating of a motor vehicle.

According to the cops, some of the victims were treated at the scene, some refused medical attention, and others were taken to Brookdale Hospital.

This is not the first school bus crash. In January, a school bus slammed into another vehicle and flipped to its side on Bay Ridge and 10th Avenue. In 2016, four children and three adults were injured after a yellow school bus flipped onto its side after being involved in a crash. In 2013, a school bus carrying special needs children collided with a car on 15th Avenue and 76th Street. In 2012, four students were injured in a school bus crash on Cropsey Avenue and Bay 34th Street.
