Friday Crime Blotter: Subway Surfer Arrested For Slashing, Suspects Sought For Firing Shots & More
DOWNTOWN – The NYPD have arrested 22-year-old Isaiah Thompson of Clinton Hill in connection to a rush hour slashing at the Jay Street MetroTech A/C subway station last month.
The incident occurred at approximately 5pm on Tuesday, July 24. Thompson reportedly argued with a 49-year-old man on the mezzanine of the subway station before slashing the victim on the right arm and fleeing the scene, police said. He is being charged with assault.
Thompson is reportedly the same man seen clinging to the side of a C train—subway surfing—in early July. He was brought in by police on July 10 after video of the stunt was posted to Instagram on July 7, according to the New York Daily News. He’s been caught hitching a ride on the side of a subway car four other times, the article reports.
SHEEPSHEAD BAY – Police are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the individuals seen in the below surveillance photos wanted for questioning in regard to two separate incidents of shots being fired.
Incident 1 – At approximately 11pm on Thursday, August 2, several unidentified individuals reportedly fired several gun shots in front of 3549 Nostrand Avenue, according to cops. No injuries were reported.
Incident 2- At approximately 1:35am on Friday, August 3, the individuals fired several shots in front of 3527 Nostrand Avenue, according to police. No injuries were reported in this incident.
GRAVESEND – The NYPD is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the individual seen in the photo and video below wanted for questioning in connection to a grand larceny that occurred in May.
At approximately 4pm on Tuesday, May 29, the woman went to a Walgreens on 86th Street where she purchased $50 worth of merchandise using a credit card stolen from a 64-year-old male victim, according to police.
Cops describe the suspect as a black female in her twenties. She was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and gray pants.

WILLIAMSBURG – Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the three individuals seen in the surveillance video below in connection to an armed robbery last month.
At approximately 9:45pm on Friday, July 27, at the corner of Kent Avenue and Hooper Street, police say the individuals approached a 38-year-old male bicyclist, displayed a firearm, and demanded his property. The suspects punched the victim multiple times before taking his bike and cellphone then fleeing. EMS transported the victim to Woodhull Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.
The suspects were reportedly last seen inside 75 Wilson Street. Police describe them as follows:
Suspect 1- Black male, approximately 14- to 18-years-old, 5’4″ to 5’6″, with short black hair, brown eyes, and a thin build. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, green camouflage shorts, and black sandals.
Suspect 2- Black male, approximately 14- to 18-years-old, 5’6″ to 5’9″, with short black hair, brown eyes, and a thin build. He was last seen wearing a yellow t-shirt, black pants, black sneakers, a gray jacket around his neck, and carrying a blue book bag.
Suspect 3- Black female, approximately 14- to 18-years-old, 5’3″ to 5’6″, with long black hair in a ponytail, brown eyes, and a heavy build. She was last seen wearing a black tank top, red shorts, and black shoes.

BENSONHURST – And lastly, police have released an additional photo and video of the man who spray-painted anti-Chinese graffiti on the side of the Green Food Supermarket at 20th Avenue and 85th Street in Bensonhurst last weekend.
Police describe the suspect as a light-skinned male, last seen wearing a cap and carrying a large bag. See the surveillance video below:
