PROSPECT PARK SOUTH/KENSINGTON – Signs have been spotted along Church Avenue informing residents that starting on October 23, parking rules will be changing along Church Avenue between Flatbush Ave and Ocean Parkway.

The Department of Transportation project aims to increase bus speeds along the B35 route, which is the third busiest in Brooklyn. The new regulations create dedicated bus lanes that will be operational Monday through Saturday, 7:00AM to 7:00PM between E16th Street and Ocean Parkway, and will change parking rules to shorter limits between E16th Street and Flatbush Avenue to facilitate quick pickups and drop offs.

We have covered the plan extensively, including some backlash, and you can get more details at the links.  Expect some more roadwork as the street gets painted and new meters get installed on side streets during October – DOT spokesperson Brian Zumhagen tells us that the entire project should be completed by October 23.
