Cymbrowitz Asks For The “Floating Orgy” To Be Investigated
SHEEPSHEAD BAY – Last week, The Independent published a story about what it’s like inside the floating sex party in New York, and now Assemblyman Steven Cymbrowitz (D-Brooklyn) is calling for an investigation into the “floating orgy” held on a party boat in Sheepshead Bay.
This seems to be a regular event, held at various locations, but Cymbrowitz, who has represented the area for 18 years and has had to deal with residents complaining about a multitude of issues the party boats bring to the neighborhood – excessive noise and crowds, passengers urinating on residents’ lawns, traffic congestion, and fights – thinks Sheepshead Bay should not be one of them.
“Floating sex parties are compatible neither with Sheepshead Bay’s family-friendly character nor with the positive changes that we are working to implement with regard to the party boats,” Assemblyman Cymbrowitz said. Last year’s rowdy behavior prompted for the curfew to be set at 11 pm for this season, as was promised by Mayor at the last year’s town hall.
The lawmaker wrote to Mayor de Blasio and the State Liquor Authority yesterday asking them to investigate, worrying about the potential for excessive alcohol and illegal drug use. “I ask that you investigate this matter further and, at the same time, prohibit Sheepshead Bay’s party boats from hosting this type of event anytime in the future,” he said.
