Cinco de Mayo is around the corner. Contrary to popular belief, it is not Mexican Independence Day (that’s September 16), but a holiday commemorating Mexico’s victory over France at the Battle of Puebla in 1862 during the Franco-Mexican War (1861-1867).

Below is a list of five restaurants in the Sunset Park/Bay Ridge area where you can celebrate Cinco de Mayo with some great Mexican cuisine and margaritas. Salud!

If we missed your favorite spot in the area for Mexican food and margaritas, let us know in the comments.
