Celebrity Real Estate: A Peek Inside Actress/Writer/Influencer Tavi Gevinson’s 300 Ashland Apartment
FORT GREENE – It was revealed last year that Rookie magazine founder and social media star, Tavi Gevinson, moved into an apartment at 300 Ashland and was being compensated by Two Trees, the building’s developers, in a partnership deal consisting of her posting sponsored content promoting the building and hosting special events for its other, less-influential tenants.
As part of her partnership, the 21-year-old multi-hyphenate writer-editor-actress-influencer recently gave a tour of her 650-square-foot, one-bedroom rental to Apartment Therapy, showing off her shoe and record collections, closet-full of designer clothing, and tchotchkes.
While apartment tours are a regular feature for the popular interior design site which reaches more than 20 million readers via its website, newsletter, and social media accounts, the look inside Gevinson’s abode will also be seen by her 550,000-plus Instagram followers—giving 300 Ashland lots of exposure.
An Apple store and a 365 Whole Foods Market recently opened in the ground-floor commercial spaces of the 35-story, 379-unit luxury building located across the street from BAM.
Large windows in Gevinson’s apartment provide lots of natural light and sweeping views. Colorful artwork and photographs adorn her white walls while books fill her shelves or lay stacked on top of the coffee table, a side table, or window ledge. A giant inspiration board leans propped up against her kitchen counter, leaving no room for a dining table.
