Celebrity Real Estate: Emily Blunt & John Krasinski Buy Two Units In Matt Damon’s Building
BROOKLYN HEIGHTS – After selling their 4th Street townhouse in Park Slope last year, actors Emily Blunt and John Krasinski are headed to Brooklyn Heights.
The couple reportedly paid just over $11 million for two eighth floor units (the entire floor) at The Standish at 171 Columbia Heights, 6sqft reports—the same building where fellow actor Matt Damon recently closed on the most expensive home in Brooklyn at $16.75 million. Blunt and Krasinski purchased the properties through a trust last spring and plan to combine the two units, according to The Real Deal.
The 12-story, 1903 Beaux-Arts building was formerly The Standish Arms Hotel and served as a dormitory for the Jehovah’s Witnesses when the group purchased the property in 1981, according to Brownstoner. The property was converted into rentals in 2007 before developers DDG and Westbrook Partners purchased the building for $60 million in 2014 and transformed it into the celebrity-luring luxury condominium The Standish.
