Two men were shot — one fatally — while sitting in an SUV parked near the Parade Grounds last night by gunmen on bicycles, cops said. At 12pm on Friday, cops listed the incident as a homicide.

The victims were sitting in a black Ford Edge parked at Parkside Avenue and Parade Place just before 3:30am on Friday, July 14, police said. The gunmen pedaled up to the car on bikes, opened fire, then fled eastbound on Parkside Avenue.

The first victim was a 42-year-old man, who was shot in the left arm, neck, and left jaw. He was pronounced dead at Maimonides Medical Center later on Friday, after being listed in critical condition through the early morning.

The second victim was a 20-year-old man sitting in the car, who shot once in the back, and he was taken to Kings County Hospital in stable condition.

No arrest were immediately made and the motive is not known as of Friday morning. Cops are investigating whether it was one cycling gunman or two.

This is the second shooting in the area this week. On Tuesday, a 20-year-old man was fatally shot after a fight on Ocean Avenue near Church Avenue. The blocks surrounding the Parade Grounds have seen other shooting incidents in the past, including in 2015 when a teenage gunman arrested for shooting a woman and a 22-year-old man was shot in the head on Crooke Avenue.

This story was updated at 12pm on Friday, July 14 to include the death of the 42-year-old victim, whose identity is pending following family notification, cops said.
