Woman Severely Injured After Being Struck By Car In Dyker Heights
Just before sunrise this morning, a woman was struck by a car when she stepped off the curb on Bay Ridge Parkway in Dyker Heights.
Around 5am on Tuesday, June 13, a 60-year-old Asian woman was collecting bottles and cans on Bay Ridge Parkway between 13th and 14th Avenues, said cops. As she stepped into the street mid-block, she was hit by a car traveling eastbound on the roadway.
Police found the woman unconscious and unresponsive with severe trauma to her body. She was rushed to Maimonides in critical condition.
The driver remained at the scene, there have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
This is the third car crash incident reported in the area within one week. Last Wednesday, a driver who was allegedly on drugs smashed into two storefronts on 20th Avenue in Bensonhurst; and just yesterday a collision on the Gowanus Expressway left a 29-year-old driver dead near 72nd Street.
