EAST FLATBUSH — Residents tired of looking at the long-time shuttered Chinese Buffet on Utica Ave. and Clarkson St. can brace for a new Wingstop to take its place.

The chicken chain will take up the entire space of the old Chinese restaurant at 700 Utica Ave. The 1300-square foot restaurant will house a small eat-in section with four tables and stools, accommodating about 20 people. The restaurant will serve beer.

With stores in Downtown Brooklyn, Bedford Stuyvesant and Bushwick, the East Flatbush location is the fourth Wingstop to come to the borough. The international wing spot was named the third-fasting-growing restaurant chain according to Business Insider, with more than 1,000 locations in the U.S. and abroad.

The Dallas-based, public company first opened in 1994 and extended to a franchise operation in 1997.

“We intend to open more locations throughout the borough,” said Jamie Meiers, the Director of Operations who confirmed the restaurant will meet its slated October 17 opening date.
