Wednesday Crime Blotter: Fire In Seagate, Why You Should Wash Your Hands & More
SEAGATE – Two people were injured in a fire that broke out just after midnight on January 23 at 3709 Laurel Ave on the first floor of the two-story house. The fire was extinguished by about 12:44 a.m. According to the FDNY, two people were hurt but they were able to walk. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined. A video is attached below.
FORT GREENE – Police are searching for a man who was masturbating on the train a few days ago.
On Monday, January 21 at about 12:30 p.m., a man laid across a train bench inside a southbound Q Train that had just left Dekalb Avenue. His hands were down his pants and he was masturbating in full view in front of other passengers. And if you needed an excuse to not touch the poles, let this be it. After he was done, he stood up, wiped his hands on one of the train’s poles, and lit a cigarette. He left the train at Church Avenue and headed in an unknown direction.
Cops describe him as a 50-to-60-year-old black man, about 5’8” tall, wearing a light colored knit cap, a blue hooded sweater, a dark colored jacket, gray sweatpants, black and white sneakers, and a black backpack. A photo is attached below.
DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN – The NYPD needs help searching for five men involved in stealing items from an Apple store, not once, but twice.
On Sunday, December 30 at about 3:05 p.m., five men entered the Apple store at 123 Flatbush Avenue. They took three Apple watches and left. On Sunday, January 13 at about 3:35 p.m., they entered the same location. But this time, they stole seven Apple watches and left.
Cops describe them as black men in their teens. One of the men is wearing a cast on his right foot. Photos are attached below.
SHEEPSHEAD BAY – Cops are searching for a man involved in a robbery that took place about two weeks ago.
On January 9 at about 12:30 a.m., the suspect approached a 24-year-old man on East 24th Street and Avenue U. He took out a gun and demanded money. The victim gave him $30 and the suspect went north on East 23rd Street.
Police describe the suspect as an adult black man wearing a mask, a jacket, and dark jeans. A video is attached below.
BOERUM HILL – The person who escaped the Department of Homeless Services Police custody last week has been arrested.
To recap, on Saturday, January 19 at about 5:26 p.m., 31-year-old Jose Bisono- Torres was being transported to Brooklyn Central Booking by officers from the Department of Homeless Services when he pulled away from the officers and ran toward Smith Street. DHS has not released the reason for Bisono-Torres’ original arrest.
Bisono-Torres, who lives in Cypress Hills, was arrested on January 21. He has been charged with escape.
CYPRESS HILLS – Police are looking for a man they believe assaulted a laundromat employee last week.
On January 15 at about 2:04 p.m., the suspect got into a verbal argument with a 48-year-old employee at Z & L Laundromat located at 2863 Fulton Street. According to the cops, the suspect then punched the employee numerous of time in the face and then left the laundromat.
The employee suffered non-threatening injuries and was taken to Brookdale Hospital. Cops describe the suspect as a 25-year-old black man, about 5’8” tall with a medium build and a medium complexion. He has black hair, brown eyes, and was last seen wearing a black bubble jacket, a black hooded sweatshirt with the Nike logo on the front, black pants, and black Nike sneakers with white laces. CROWN HEIGHTS – The NYPD is searching for a man that assaulted a woman last week.
On January 18 at about 1 p.m., the suspect punched a 21-year-old young woman on her right arm in front of 269 Kingston Avenue. He then fled the scene and headed in an unknown direction. He did not make any statements during the assault, cops say. The victim suffered minor injuries but did not want medical attention.
The suspect is described as a black man with hair in short dreadlocks. He was last seen wearing a brown coat with a fur collar, a green scarf, dark colored pants, and dark colored shoes. A video is attached below.
SHEEPSHEAD BAY – Police are looking for another man who was masturbating on the train last week.
On January 15 at about 9:30 a.m., the man was sitting on the southbound B Train, which was arriving at the Kings Highway Station. His hands were down his pants and he was masturbating in front of other passengers — in full view. A 66-year-old woman took the photo attached below and got off the train at the Kings Highway stop. The man stayed on the train.
Cops describe him as a 20-to-25-year-old black man wearing a blue knit cap, a black coat, blue sweatpants, and black sneakers.
MARINE PARK – The NYPD needs help searching for a man that assaulted a 13-year-old girl two weeks ago.
On January 8 at about 4:30 p.m., a 13-year-old girl was walking outside of 2940 Quentin Road. A man grabbed her by the neck and slapped her in the face causing swelling and pain. According to the cops, there were no words exchanged prior to the assault. The suspect then fled in an unknown direction. Cops also say the victim and suspect did not know each other.
The suspect is described as a 40-year-old Asian man, about 5’5” tall with a slim build and facial scars. He was last seen wearing a waist-length beige jacket, gray jeans, and gray sneakers. A video is attached below.
BROWNSVILLE – Police are searching for a man who they believe touched a girl’s butt in November.
On November 26 at about 3:30 p.m., a man approached a 17-year-old girl on the corner of Saint Marks Avenue and Boyland Street. He then proceeded to touch her butt, and after doing so, he fled north on Boyland Avenue.
Cops describe the suspect as a 25-to-30-year-old Hispanic man with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a baseball cap and all dark clothing. A photo is attached below.
SHEEPSHEAD BAY – Police are searching for a man involved in a robbery last week.
On January 14 at about 12:10 p.m., the suspect went inside Sheepshead Bay Cleaners located at 3901 Nostrand Avenue. He threatened a 57-year-old employee and told her to open up the cash register. The victim opened it and the suspect stole $115 before heading north on Nostrand Avenue.
Cops describe the suspect as a man in his 40s with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, a gray scarf over his face, blue jeans, yellow gloves, and tan work boots. A photo is attached below.
CANARSIE – Police have identified the man involved in a homicide last November. They now need the public’s help in finding him.
To recap, on November 2 at about 7:28 p.m., police discovered 26-year-old Anthony Ponce with gunshot wounds to the head and torso on the fifth floor of Bayview Houses, located at 5985 Shore Parkway.
The suspect is 20-year-old Julius Allen. He is described as a 5’6” tall black man with short black hair, brown eyes, and a stocky build. A photo is attached below.
EAST FLATBUSH – Police need help searching for two suspects involved in three robberies these past two months.
On December 1 at about 4:30 a.m., two men forcibly entered a construction site at 1835 Nostrand Avenue by breaking through a secured gate. Once they were inside, they tried to remove tools but were interrupted by a security guard. The men fled the location without taking anything.
On December 2 at about 12:35 a.m., the two men entered the same construction site and tried to remove items but were again unsuccessful.
On January at about 6 p.m., the two men forcibly entered a construction site at 1084 Rogers Avenue by breaking through a secured gate. They then stole $6,000 worth of tools. The fled the location and headed to an unknown direction.
The first suspect is described as a 40-to-50-year-old black man wearing a green hoodie and all dark clothing. The suspect is described as a 30-to-40-year-old black man wearing a blue and white jacket and black pants. A photo is attached below.
