Vegan Cooks Invited To Show Off Your Best Balls This Sunday
Do you cook up some mean balls? And vegan ones, at that? Then there’s a cooking competition coming up this weekend that you should enter, because there’s a chance of winning some cold, hard cash.
The NYC Vegan Cook-Off: Best Balls Competition from the skint will take place on Sunday, August 3 at 2pm at Littlefield, 622 Degraw Street, and they’re welcoming 12-15 home cooks to dish up anything in a ball shape — whether it’s a meatless meatball, rice ball, chocolate ball, popcorn ball, you name it. And the winner, as selected by judges and the audience, takes home $250 cash!
There are some rules, including the obvious — no animal products allowed — but also that you’ve got to provide 175 tasting samples, and that you’ve got to make everything in advance since there’s no kitchen at the venue. See the full list here, and sign up using this entry form.
Rather eat than cook? You can buy tickets now for the event and gobble your way through a dozen-plus balls this Sunday, just note that they’ve sold out fast for past events, so get on it.
