Union Hall Rises From Flames, Reopens July 21
Union Hall is reopening its upstairs bar and celebrating with a party on Friday, July 21.
“Reacquaint yourself with Union Hall & enjoy $3 Sixpoints, giveaways & other fun surprises,” a post on the venue’s Facebook page reads.
A fire broke out at the bar/music venue, located at 702 Union Street (at 5th Avenue) in Park Slope, on March 24. Fortunately everyone was evacuated safely, however extensive damage occurred to the upstairs of the building.
In May, while repairs were still being made upstairs, the bar began hosting the Basement Series in its lower level, which suffered less damage from the fire.
Doors will open at 1pm for the July 21 shindig and the kitchen will open at 4pm. There will be an extended happy hour from 5pm to 8pm. Musical acts The Nightowls, Courtesy Tier, and Jessi Robertson (Tickets $8, $10 day of show) will perform downstairs at 8pm and Karaoke Tremendous (free) will kick off at midnight.
