Two Arrests Made in Bed-Stuy Double Homicide

BED-STUY – Two arrests have been made in a double homicide that left two women dead outside the Stuyvesant Garden houses last July.

Anthony Alexander, 18, of Bed-Stuy, and Nazir Saunders, 20, of Harlem, have been arrested and each charged with 2 counts of second-degree murder, said police.

The July 12 shooting resulted in the deaths of Chynna Battle, 21, and Shaqwanda Staley, 29, both of Bedford-Stuyvesant.

NYPD and Crimestoppers had previously announced a $10,000 reward for information leading the to arrest and conviction of the perpetrators.
