The 5 Best Spots For Hot Chocolate In Park Slope

(Photo via tastebudskitchen)

While this December has been mercifully snow-free, even with the sunny and clear days, it’s a great time to warm your hands in a local coffee shop with a delicious hot chocolate! There’s plenty of places that fit the bill in Park Slope, so we’ve updated our list to reflect some old favorites, recent closures and new shops. The holidays are taxing—you deserve a treat!

The Chocolate Room
51 5th Avenue

Though this is one rich cup of hot chocolate, unlike some others, it’s not so heavy that you take a couple sips and need a break — it’s drinkable to the last drop. (We tasted their rich hot chocolate at their old location down the block.)

Nunu Chocolates
179 5th Avenue

Nunu made some ‘Top Hot Chocolate in NYC’ lists for its signature smooth and not-too-sweet cup. Check out some other high-ticket chocolate items here.

Colson Patisserie
374 9th Street

A more grown-up hot chocolate, this one is not particularly sweet, but we’ve found it’s the perfect one to use for dunking one of their fluffy, sweet brioche rolls.

Chocolateria
228 7th Avenue

It’s right there in the name, isn’t it? At this choco-centric stop between 3rd and 4th Streets, you can grab a good sized glass of hot chocolate that’s positively stacked with marshmallows. Plus, after a recent remodel, it’s a great place to post up and get some work done, too!

Gran Caffé de Martini
609 Vanderbilt Avenue

Ok, so this one isn’t quite in Park Slope, but we had to throw in one curveball. Maybe you’re a cold brew true believer, the kind that’ll order an iced coffee even if it’s snowing outside. We see you! So, try sliding over to Gran Caffé de Martini for their cold chocolate—it’s different but delicious, and you can still feel superior to your hot-drink sipping peers…
