The Sinner Filming in Ditmas Park – A Massive Production?
The Sinner is filming in Ditmas Park this week, and you will not be able to miss it. They will be time traveling back, and filming scenes from 1997 and 2003, mostly in Ditmas Park West, with the set on Rugby between Dorchester and Ditmas. Variety has a good review of the series, if you want to find out more.
This is how The Sinners is being marketed, trailer at the link as well:
An eight episode close-ended series, The Sinner follows a young mother (Jessica Biel) who, when overcome by an inexplicable fit of rage, commits a startling act of violence and to her horror has no idea why. The event launches an inverted and utterly surprising crime thriller whose driving force is not the “who” or the “what” — but the “why” — as an investigator (Bill Pullman) finds himself obsessed with uncovering the woman’s buried motive. Together they travel a harrowing journey into the depths of her psyche and the violent secrets hidden in her past. The Sinner premieres summer 2017.
You will need to move your car by 10pm Wednesday, and just where to is not so obvious. To make it easier, here’s a map of streets they have reserved for Thursday and Friday:
Just for the fun of it, we added up the lengths of these blocks, per Google maps, and came up with 6,338 feet of street space. Now, with the exception of Coney Island Avenue, they have reserved both sides of the street for parking, so that brings the total street space reserved for this shoot to 9,297 or so feet. At 5,280 feet to a mile, that’s close to two miles of street parking, give or take.
