Farrell’s Bar & Grill (215 Prospect Park West at 16th Street). This tap room is old school, and harkens back to a tougher Park Slope time. Shirley MacLaine caused a ruckus back in the 70s when she refused to play by the rules of women needing a chaperone to enter the place.
Freddy’s Bar (627 5th Avenue neat 17th Street) Get thee to Freddy’s for corned beef sandwiches from the kitchen all day!
MacMahon’s Public House (39 5th Avenue between Bergen and Dean Streets) The woodwork has all been done by hand and the traditional Irish music will be playing on Thursday night.
Mary’s Bar (708 5th Avenue at 22nd Street) Mary’s will be tapping a Keg of Smithwicks Irish Ale and making a pot of Dublin Coddle. All day and night they’ll be offering an $8 shot of Jameson and a pint of Smithwicks. At 8pm they’ll open the steaming crockpot of Dublin Coddle and at that time the special is Smithwicks Irish Ale and a shot of Jameson with a bowl of Irish Coddle for $12.
Paddy’s of Park Slope (273 13th Street near 5th Avenue) opened in early December, and it’s quickly become one of the go-to Irish pubs. They promise some amazing live Celtic music from 6pm-9pm.
Pork Slope (247 5th Avenue between Garfield Place and Carroll Street). An all-you-can-eat nacho bar in the afternoon and a corned beef sandwich special in the evening.
Smith’s Tavern (440 5th Avenue between 8th and 9th Streets) is another old school place, 80 years and running.
Irish Soda Bread
Buttermilk Bake Shop (339 7th Avenue between 9th and 10th Streets)
Cousin John’s (70 7th Avenue between Berkeley and Lincoln Places)
