NYPD Releases Video Of Suspect In 4th Avenue Killing
BOERUM HILL – The NYPD has released surveillance video of the man they believe stabbed and shot a Staten Island man to death on the corner of 4th Avenue and Atlantic Avenue Wednesday evening.
At approximately 8:20pm on September 20, police found 47-year-old Steven Vargas unconscious in front of the Dunkin’ Donuts on the corner of 4th and Atlantic Avenues with a stab wound and three gunshot wounds to his chest, a NYPD representative said.
Vargas was taken to Brooklyn Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Investigators believe Vargas may have gotten into a dispute with the suspect prior to the incident, the representative said.
Police describe the suspect as a white male, 40- to 50-years-old with a light complexion. He was last seen wearing a dark-colored jacket, dark-colored jeans, dark shoes, and a white shirt.
