Ninth Street Espresso Now Open In Threes Brewing On Douglass

For those who don’t want to have to choose between coffee and beer, you’ve now got the best of both worlds in Gowanus.

Ninth Street Espresso opened on Monday in the upstairs space at the new Threes Brewing, located at 333 Douglass Street, between 3rd and 4th Avenues. A bit off the beaten track, perhaps, but if you used to visit Two Moon before it closed on 4th Avenue in November, this may be a nice new alternative, with plenty of seating, wifi, pastries from Balthazar Bakery, and of course, tasty coffee.

They’ll be open from 7am through about 6pm, so there is a bit of a crossover between coffee and beers — Threes starts serving on weekdays at 4pm, so you can finish up the caffeinated part of your afternoon before moving down to the bar to try something brewed on the premises (or one of the other beers or cocktails they’ve got). And because why not combine the two, keep an eye out for a beer from Threes made with the Ninth Street coffee.

Come spring, it will also be a nice spot to grab a a cup of joe with a friend and head out to the backyard. For now though, it’s a cozy respite after trekking across 4th Ave in the snow.
