[UPDATE] Ménage A Trois Gone Wrong Leads To Murder in Park Slope
[UPDATED: June 20, 2017 at 11:20am] Police have announced that they’ve made one arrest in connection to this investigation. Twenty-four-year-old Christopher Membreno of Sunset Park was arrested at 12:54am on Tuesday, June 20. He is currently being charged with criminal possession of a weapon.
The NYPD has released the identity of the 20-year-old man who was found stabbed and beaten in the lobby of a Park Slope apartment building early Monday morning.
Police confirmed to BKLYNER that the victim, Manos Ikonomidis of Gravesend, was involved in a sexual act with two other individuals at 355 16th Street prior to the violent incident.
Ikonomidis was involved in a threesome with 21-year-old Jack Doherty and an unidentified woman early Monday, June 19, according to New York Daily News. The woman allegedly became upset when one of the men tried filming the ménage à trois and asked Doherty to take her home, according the the article. Ikonomidis remained at the Park Slope residence.
According to the Daily News, the woman told her boyfriend about the trio’s activities. At approximately the same time that Doherty returned to the 16th Street apartment, three other men also arrived at the building. The Daily News reports that surveillance footage shows two white men and one black man, armed with baseball bats, chasing Ikonomidis as he tries to flee the building.
The badly wounded and beaten victim allegedly knocked on the door of a resident of the building who claims he told her, “They stabbed me!”
When police arrived to the scene at approximately 4:10am, they discovered Ikonomidis unconscious and unresponsive in the building’s lobby. He was taken to Methodist Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
While Doherty is being questioned, a police representative told BKLYNER that neither he nor the woman involved in the sexual tryst are currently being charged. The investigation is ongoing and police are still searching for the suspects.
