Lottery Launches for Seven New Affordable Units In Flatbush
FLATBUSH — Applications are now being accepted for seven affordable one-bedroom units at a new rental building at 2527 Church Avenue (between Bedford and Rogers Avenues). That’s right – seven.
The resident features 16,349 sq. ft. of residential space and 21 apartments, a third of which are set aside as affordable units. The units are housed in a new 7-story structure.
The seven affordable units are reserved for applicants earning 130 percent of the area median income (AMI). Annual household income requirements range from $65,143 – $95,030 for single applicants and $65,143 – $108,550 for couples and 66,858, – 108,550 for families of three. All affordable apartments are one-bedrooms and range from $1,900 to $1,950.
Bernard Schwimmer Regal Builders Realty LLC. is listed as the owner on property records. LND Architects designed the Flatbush building which includes a laundry room, fitness center and ground floor outdoor parking (additional fee).
A percentage of units will be set aside for applicants with mobility (5%) and vision/hearing (2%) disabilities. Community residents are not given preference as is the case in other units listed on the city’s lottery site.
The building is anticipated to get a tax exemption through the city’s 421-a Tax Incentive Program.
