Woman Dead, Man Hospitalized After Stabbing in PLG

PROSPECT LEFFERTS GARDENS – A woman is dead and a man is in the hospital after a domestic knife attack in a Lefferts Avenue apartment early this morning, police confirmed.

The incident took place just after 5:00 am on Tuesday, November 13, and police responded to a call of an assault inside an apartment at 25 Lefferts Avenue, at Washington Avenue.

Officers found a 47-year-old woman with lacerations to her neck and a 58-year-old man with cuts on his wrists, police said. EMS pronounced the woman dead at the scene and the man was taken to Kings County Hospital in serious condition.

Details are limited so far, but police said they recovered a knife inside the apartment. Whether the male victim was the attacker or not, or if the slashes to his wrists were self-inflicted, could not be confirmed.

An investigation into the homicide is underway, police said.

Last Friday, a scene that seems similar played out in a Bushwick apartment, where a possible murder-suicide left a woman and her boyfriend dead.
