These Kids Got To Check Out Marvel Universe LIVE! Before Everyone Else

In case you missed our post a few weeks ago, Feld Entertainment and Marvel have partnered to bring 25 of your favorite superheroes and villains to life in Marvel Universe LIVE! at Barclays Center. The first performance is Thursday 2/22 at 7pm and it only plays through Sunday before moving on to its next home.

But before the curtain goes up at Barclays, the Marvel team crossed the river to Manhattan to give the public a taste.

By “the public,” we mean mostly people of the smaller variety.

Before the performance, we met up with fight instructors Nik Nieves and Erika Keck.

Nik and Erika were teaching a young Brooklynite a few crucial moves. He learned how to knock someone out:

How to have a proper Kali stick sword fight:

And…wait. Kali sticks? I’ll let Nik explain:

There was a chance to display one’s brute — or maybe superhuman — strength by wielding Thor’s hammer…

…or transform into (Baby?) Groot.

Lots of kids dove into the event. Like Kelly from the Bronx, who I seem to have made angry – her hands at least.

And Tristan, Joseph, Gia, and Sean were camped out waiting for the performance, so I figured I’d get their answers to the question on everyone’s minds.

After a ton of anticipation, the preview began and did not disappoint.

What are they in awe of? You’ll have to show up this weekend to find out. Grab your tickets here and head down to Barclays.

Also, in our last article, we gave you some great options for places to pick up comics after or before the show. But for those of you more interested in BEING superheroes, Brooklyn’s got you covered too:

Brooklyn Superhero Supply Co.
372 5th Avenue
Brooklyn (between 5th and 6th Avenues)

Just don’t use your powers of invisibility to sneak into the show!
