Jane Restaurant & Bar Opens In Boerum Hill
After serving ravenous brunch and happy hour crowds at its Soho location (100 West Houston Street) since 2001, Jane Restaurant & Bar has finally made its first foray into Brooklyn, debuting an outpost at 515 Atlantic Avenue (at 3rd Avenue) in Boerum Hill just about two weeks ago.
Located steps away from Barclays Center in the former Ganso space, the American Bistro offers “no frills,” straightforward, seasonal fare for lunch (which the location started serving yesterday), dinner, and weekend brunch.
Chef Freda Sugarman prepares dishes made from locally sourced ingredients such as avocado toast, vanilla bean French toast, the Jane Burger (with cheddar, double smoked bacon, and jalapeño marmalade), brick-pressed chicken, mussels, and steak frites. The eatery also offers a selection of salads, pastas and pizzas, cocktails, and a raw bar.
The spacious restaurant seats approximately 100 diners and features a backyard with outdoor seating for 30. A rep for the restaurant noted that the back garden will close nightly at 9pm out of respect for their neighbors.
If it’s anything like its Soho sibling—a bustling, casual, neighborhood spot—Jane Brooklyn will be a fun and welcome addition to Atlantic Avenue.
