The Sunflower Cafe is located at 1223 Quentin Rd and Kings Highway. They offer a wide array of fresh and delicious kosher Israeli food.

The atmosphere in Sunflower is very relaxed with light rock Hebrew ballads playing softly over the chatter of people who are hanging out in the cafe. There is outdoor seating to enjoy the day while relaxing just outside of the Kings Highway hustle and bustle.

The Sunflower Cafe is certainly not the most affordable places around; their omelette prices range from $10.95 to $12.95. The breakfast sandwiches range from $12.95 to $15.95.

However, the dishes are portioned rather largely, so the money you pay doesn’t go to waste whatsoever.

I went with the Eggs Paris breakfast sandwich, which is priced at $13.95. This dish comes with two eggs, cooked perfectly to order, on top of a fresh, soft, and somewhat sweet croissant. So even though the sandwich is simply two eggs on a croissant, it doesn’t taste nearly as simple as it sounds.

The sandwich comes with a choice of an Israeli salad or a caesar salad. I chose the Israeli salad, which consists of diced tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, onions, peppers, and lettuce with a vinaigrette dressing. The salad was mountainous and difficult to finish after eating the sandwich.

The dish, like most of the breakfast dishes, came with fresh squeezed orange juice. In addition to the OJ, I ordered an iced coffee, which came with milk and sugar without my asking. I usually take milk and sugar, so this wasn’t a big deal for me, but fair warning to anyone who prefers their coffee differently.

Sunflower also has huge bowls of soup, such as french onion and tomato soup. They also do some dinner dishes like baked potatoes, pasta dishes, and fish. For lunch and dinner, there are sandwiches such as mozzarella, roasted pepper, eggplant, and feta cheese sandwiches.

They also serve pressed panini sandwiches, such as cheese, tuna, grilled vegetable, and eggplant paninis.

The children’s menu has items like grilled cheese, eggs, spaghetti, pizza bagels, salad, and french fries. The kid’s items prices range from $5.50 to $9.95.

For dessert, there is an array of cakes, ice cream, and milkshakes to choose from. In true cafe style, there is a variety of coffee beverages as well. You can flavor regular coffee with flavors like hazelnut, french vanilla, and amaretto. There’s also nescafe, cappuccino, mochas, lattes, espresso, hot chocolate, and different kinds of teas.

In addition to all of the caffeinated goodness, there are fresh squeezed juices, and frappes to enjoy.

Unfortunately, there is no wifi available at the cafe, but there are nearby wifi connections ripe for the picking while you sip on a cappuccino.

All in all, I was pleased with the experience at Sunflower.
