Dining Review: Factory Cafe Is A Delicious Addition To The Neighborhood
This rustic Mediterranean restaurant just opened last weekend and it has the makings of a great local hangout.
The decor at Factory Cafe, at 1724 Sheepshead Bay Rd, is industrial with a wide open dining floor, and a loft area with tables where diners can look down at the bottom floor, or at movie posters lining the walls. In the center of the ground floor is a big chandelier hanging above a large round table. In the middle of the round table is an assortment of colorful stones under a sheet of glass. In the front are big eclectic chairs perfect for doing work while drinking a delicious iced chai.
The buffalo wing appetizer came with six heavily-breaded wings and thick, salty buffalo sauce. They were crunchy and had enough taste to leave a flavor well into the entree.
The cigar borek appetizer was also delicious. It came with three pieces of rolled dough filled with cheese and parsley. They are perfect if you just want a small bite with a coffee or a smoothie.
The Fire At The Factory burger certainly had a kick. It has pepper jack cheese with diced jalapeños mixed in it, and a slice of tomato. It comes served on a flat wooden plate with delicious crispy french fries and a side of ketchup and mayonnaise ready to be mixed into a special sauce.
My Sprite came in a nostalgic glass bottle, making the beverage an experience in and of itself.
Even though I was too full for dessert, I definitely glared into the dessert case at the beautiful cakes, muffins, and other pastries. There is a wonderfully colorful arrangement of macaroons with a wide array of flavors.
Factory Cafe is open everyday from 7am-2am, making it the perfect place to chill with friends or family at basically all hours — for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
