Good morning, Fort Greene and Clinton Hill.

We have good news for book lovers. Community Board 2 District Manager Robert Perris told The Nabe that the Brooklyn Public Library plans to reopen the Clinton Hill branch library by the end of the month. The library closed on Oct. 25 for renovations and building upgrades, including self-check machines and a new heating and cooling  system. What do you plan to check out from the library, locals?

  • More good news for local bibliophiles: the owners of Le Petit Bakery, mother and son team Susan Tenteromano and Christopher Sanchez, published “Child Baker to Culinary Chef,” reported DNAinfo. The book, which includes easy recipes for kids, details how Tenteromano began teaching her son how to bake when he was two years old and how his early love of baking grew into a career. Stop by the bakery at 354 Myrtle Avenue to pre-order a copy.
The Landmarks Preservation Commission voted to grant landmark status to the 88th Precinct Station House, according to Brownstoner. Now police will have to find a new space for the precinct, a Romanesque Revival building designed by George Ingram and built in 1890.
  • A new cafe is moving into the neighborhood. Baba Cool, which is French for hippie, will take over the Lafayette Avenue space used by Bespoke Bicycle which closed six weeks ago, reported Brownstoner.
  • Feeling bored by frozen vegetables from the supermarket? The Fort Greene Park Greenmarket is participating in a Winter Warrior program to reward intrepid winter greenmarket shoppers, reported Brooklyn Based. Stop by the greenmarket this Saturday and pick up a Winter Warrior card from the GrowNYC tent. Get it stamped at every visit to the greenmarket from now until March 31 and you’ll pick up a tasty prize on the tenth visit.
