Good morning, Fort Greene and Clinton Hill.

Have you picked out your own fluffy evergreen yet, locals? We’re wondering what types of trees people have bought. For those of you that have made the choice, fill out our easy poll. Let us know and we’ll post the results before Christmas.

Here’s a round-up of other local news to start the day:

  • Last week, The Nabe reported that the 88th Precinct would restrict our review of forms detailing crime reports. We reported that police agreed to still give The Nabe crime report access this week – if we made requests through the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Public Information (DCPI). But the Brooklyn Paper said that when its reporters reached out to DCPI for the reports, “calls there were met with suggestions to look at CompStat, monthly online crime statistics that contain no details about the circumstances of specific crimes, or to file Freedom of Information Law requests, which can take months to bear fruit — if the department responds to them at all.”
  • The value of the 16 residential towers planned to be built behind the Barclays Center, part of the Atlantic Yards project mixed-use development, is likely half of Forest City Ratner’s $500 million investment in the project, according to Crain’s New York Business. Executives blamed the drop in value on development delays and higher than expected construction costs.
  • Did you miss any of the local tributes to Nelson Mandela? Don’t worry, because Madiba Restaurant will host the community as it screens the Mandela funeral service in South Africa on Dec. 15 at 6 p.m. The night will include a live performance from South African Allstars, as well as the chance to release sky lanterns at 7 p.m. Madiba is located at 195 DeKalb Avenue, at the corner of Carlton Avenue.
