Cops Find 1-Year-Old Boy in Stolen Car
CROWN HEIGHTS — A 1-year-old boy who was in a stolen vehicle was found safe in Crown Heights Monday evening.
At around 7 p.m. Monday, the boy’s mother left her child in a car in the area of Kingston Avenue and Dean Street as she went to buy groceries, according to police. That car was subsequently stolen by a man, surveillance footage shows.
An Amber Alert was then activated, and at around 9 p.m. the boy was found unharmed in the back seat of the car, which was in front of 1617 Prospect Place by Ralph Avenue, the NYPD says. The man who stole the car, a white Mitsubishi, was not in the vehicle.
“Thank you everyone!” tweeted the NYPD Patrol Borough Brooklyn North account Monday night. “We have located the child and he has been reunited with his mother and father.”
There are no suspects and the investigation into who stole the car is ongoing.
