Brooklyn Army Terminal Launches Micromanufacturing Hub

SUNSET PARK – The New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) recently announced the launch of the Brooklyn Army Terminal’s Micromanufacturing Hub, a new area housing smaller industrial manufacturing spaces designed to allow growth-stage businesses to move in quickly.

The spaces available in the Micromanufacturing Hub range in size from 1,500 to 5,500 square feet. Four of the premiere tenants include:

• Green Mustache – a woman-owned local business that produces organic smoothies and snacks. Their fruit and vegetable smoothies (each bottle contains two cups of kale and spinach) are handcrafted in small batches at their Brooklyn Army Terminal facility.
• Mudo Fashion Inc.– a sample-making and production company that provides sewing, cutting, fusing, and care label printing services to apparel clients using machines that expedite production by eliminating the hand-stitching process.
• Poursteady – a Brooklyn-based manufacturer of commercial coffee equipment that produces fast, reliable machines for cafés, restaurants, and offices. The company unveiled its first prototype at the 2013 NYC Maker Faire and was an NYCEDC Next Top Maker Fellow.
• Rvinyl – a small, employee-owned company that designs, manufactures, and sells vinyl vehicle wraps, dash kits, and tints for windows, headlights and taillights.

Part of NYCEDC’s Sunset Park Vision Plan, the Brooklyn Army Terminal provides commercial and industrial space for tech, fashion, and food manufacturers. Current tenants include Jacques Torres Chocolates, UncommonGoods, and Lowercase Eyewear, as well as several food brands in the Terminal’s Food Manufacturing Hub including Momo Dressing, City Saucery, and Salty Road.
