Bonnie’s Owner Says Goodbye As New Management Takes Over
There’s been a bit of a change over at Bonnie’s Grill, the casual joint on 5th Avenue that’s been dishing out chicken wings and more for about 15 years, but many neighbors might not even notice a difference.
The space, located at 278 5th Avenue, between Garfield and 1st, was recently sold, but as the former owner Mike Nabor noted today on Facebook, the new owner will keep everything — the name, staff, and concept — the same:
Hi folks,
As of February 25th, I am no longer the head bean cooker and bottle washer of Bonnie’s Grill. I cannot begin to thank you enough for the support and kindness you have shown me over the last fifteen years, I so wish we could have done it for fifteen more.
The new owner is keeping the name, staff, and concept. I wish him and this amazing crew great success and prosperity.
Special thanks to Robert, Carlos, Steven, Brother Mike, Johnny, and Kurt. Thanks for sticking with me through more shit than imaginable. I love you guys.
Without Bonnie’s, the three people I love most in this world would not be a part of my life. I met my beautiful wife. This led to our two wonderful, insane, and sometimes spastic twins who I adore with all my soul. I will always be thankful for this place for giving me these three pieces of work, I mean gifts!
And to Brandon. I miss you more than you can imagine, brother. I will never stop thinking about what might have been.
Adios and hope to see you down the road.
Mike Naber
Best of luck on your new path, Mike!
