A stylishly renovated 2,800-square-foot townhouse located at 439 36th Street (between 4th & 5th Avenues) in Sunset Park recently sold for $2.05 million—a record for the neighborhood.

The developers of this project are working on four additional townhouse renovations on 5th Avenue which will share a courtyard between 33rd & 34th Streets. On the market this summer, these new properties are also expected to fetch $2 million.

“In Windsor Terrace, for $1.5 million you’re getting a two-family fixer-upper. In Park Slope you’re getting a condo that’s maybe 1,000 square feet. There are some beautiful brownstones in Sunset Park for $1.5 million,” Compass real estate agent Abigail Palanca told DNA Info.

A townhouse comparable to 439 36th Street would sell for around $4 million in Park Slope, she added.

Sunset Park is a hotbed for development—with Industry City, the recent opening of the BEYOND at Liberty View shopping center, Mayor de Blasio’s announcement of the “Made In New York” campus at Bush Terminal, and the redevelopment of the Sunset Park Library—making it more appealing to buyers, renters, and business owners.
