Andrew Hoan, president of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, said that the new shopping destination was a “great gain for Brooklyn and the Sunset Park retail scene.”
“Brooklyn retailers [are] losing out on almost $6 billion in consumer spending,” Hoan noted.
Capitalizing on consumer interest in the Brooklyn label, BEYOND at Liberty View will offer “curated collections,” including “Best of New” and “Locally Made,” which feature products made by Brooklyn businesses.
The Sunset Park complex also has a food hall for hungry shoppers. The Bay Market Kitchen serves casual American cuisine and locally brewed craft beer, wine and growlers.
And there are seasonal market food pods on the second floor, featuring Brooklyn-based Toby’s Estate Coffee espresso drinks, drip and pour-over coffee and locally-sourced treats and snacks.
An event space at the complex, named 71 at BEYOND, has been specially designed for cooking classes, product demonstrations, food sampling, how-to sessions and more.
