YogurBerry Now Closed: Fro-Yo On The Decline In Park Slope?
Have we finally reached frozen yogurt market saturation?
YogurBerry, a fro-yo franchise with locations around the world, recently closed its spot at 77 5th Avenue, on the corner of Prospect. The business is essentially cleared out, and “for rent” signs hang in the windows.
Opened in the spring of 2012, it became one of many fro-yo joints in the area, adding to a growing trend that only recently seemed to cease when Red Mango on Flatbush Avenue opened, the most recent, and seemingly last, of the bunch. In our comprehensive roundup, it was pretty middle of the road compared to others in the area.
So, is this the beginning of the end of fro-yo in the neighborhood — or with one less place, do we have just the right amount?
