Yarn Bombs On East 17th Street
It’s been a while since we last saw a bit of “yarn bombing” in the neighborhood — not since a series of trees were snuggly wrapped in woolens during a snowstorm in early 2011. Then earlier this week, we spotted the lamp and tree above on East 17th Street near Cortelyou, both looking pretty cozy with their new duds.
International Yarn Bombing Day, which yep, is an actual day that’s been happening annually since 2011, was this past Saturday, June 8, so we’re guessing that’s when these appeared. Anyone know the knitter?
