Worldwide Day Of Waiting In Line

Worldwide Day Of Waiting In Line

It kinda felt like we’d scored a golden ticket after getting passes to last Saturday’s Nickelodeon Worldwide Day of Play. That is, until we arrived in Prospect Park and discovered this:

Lines. The line just to walk inside Day of Play was absolutely insane. It took over 30 minutes before you were even in the official line to enter the event. Once you finally got through the gates and thought the lines were behind you, there were more lines.

Just about anywhere (with the exception of the open grass areas) that the kids wanted to play required a lengthy stay in another line.

The real kicker was that a lot of these play areas offered up activities, like giant foam blocks or merry-go-rounds, that we could have gotten down at one of the local playgrounds…without having to wait in line.

Of course, there were costumed characters (like the freakishly large Diego) and a performance by Big Time Rush (experiences you couldn’t have over at Slope Park), but overall the afternoon felt like such an enormous letdown.

For those of you who attended Worldwide Day of Play, what did you think? Did you have a great time with the kids, or did the family walk away disappointed?
