Take a rejuvenating break and enjoy some poetry as part of your Labor Day weekend festivities. This Saturday afternoon, four poets — two from Brooklyn and two from Manhattan — will read their latest works in the lush E. 4th Street Community Garden.

This is the second poetry event of the season hosted at the community garden and it is part of an expanded

offering of spoken word, performance, and music programming. The series started this summer and will continue throughout the fall.

The reading is free and open to anyone in the neighborhood, but donations to support the garden are welcome.

Expect to spend a couple of blissful hours listening to work by the award-winning poet Steve Dalachinsky, and  luxuriating in the words of poets Dell Lemmon, Yuko Otomo, and Carolyn Steinhoff.

The poetry reading takes place Saturday, September 5, at 3:30pm in the E. 4th Street Community Garden located between Caton Avenue and Ft. Hamilton Parkway through the wrought-iron gate.
