Woman Fatally Struck By Car On Shore Parkway

Police are investigating a collision that occurred Thursday.

Galina Shibayeva, 76, was struck at the corner of 24th Avenue and Shore Parkway at approximately 11:32am, cops said. Upon arrival, police found her unconscious and unresponsive with trauma to her body. EMS responded to the location and declared Shibayeva deceased.

An investigation revealed that a 2007 black Mercedes Benz SUV, operated by a 21-year-old woman, was backing up eastbound on Shore Parkway toward 24th Avenue when the vehicle struck Shibayeva, who was crossing street, according to authorities. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene. The investigation is ongoing.
