Woman Arrested In Connection To Attempted Kidnapping

Police have informed us that a suspect has been taken into custody in relation to an attempted kidnapping that occurred on 80th Street in Bensonhurst last week.
Shao Qing Li, 51, of Bensonhurst, has been arrested and charged with acting in a manner injurious to a child, according to the NYPD.
The suspect approached a 2-year-old girl — who was playing outside with a neighbor’s dog near 80th Street and`16th Avenue — on Saturday, May 28, at 9:50am, took her by the hand and started to walk away with her, say cops.
The child’s mother — identified by Pix11 as Fairouz Alfarez — chased woman and took her child back, according to police. The woman then kept walking away as if nothing had happen.
“I told her, ‘Where are you going?’ and when I said that she held the girl and she just started to run,” Alfarez told CBS New York.
There were no injuries reported.
Surveillance video of the suspect released by police shows a slight Asian woman, wearing sunglasses and a checkered shirt. She is believed to be in her 30s.
