WILLIAMSBURG – Building application permits have been filed for a new 26-story hotel and residential building in the heart of Williamsburg that will tower over the iconic Williamsburg Savings Bank nearby.

Located at 159 Broadway, the location—currently a parking lot—sits just south of the last stretch of the Williamsburg Bridge, across from the famous Peter Luger steakhouse and night-life standby Baby’s All Right. The building is located a few blocks away from the Marcy Avenue JMZ station.

The 277-ft. tall hotel will feature 251 hotel rooms on the first sixteen floors, which will include a terrace and a restaurant, reported YIMBY. 21 apartments, likely to be condos, will top off the building, and residents will enjoy not only a fitness center, but also a recreation terrace with a pool—on the 18th floor!

The design is being handled by Stonehill Taylor, an international architecture firm with major projects in New York and around the world. Isaac Hager’s Cornell Realty Management company is helming the project, after buying the site for $26.2 million in November of 2017, according to property records.
