Will You Be Shopping At Brooklyn's First Whole Foods?

Our borough’s first Whole Foods opened in Gowanus today, as documented by Christine over at Park Slope Stoop. Aside from the regular produce and other shelved stock to pick up, the chain’s newest location (at 214 3rd Street on the corner of 3rd Avenue, and open 8am-11pm seven days a week) includes an oatmeal bar, artisanal pizza, a coffee counter, a knife-sharpening station, a regular seating area, an indoor/outdoor rooftop bar, a wall of beer, and, as you might expect given the whole rush to brand Brooklyn thing, vinyl records.

We have some great options for natural, hard-to-find food in Ditmas Park (see here, here, and here), but it now seems we are lacking a place to pick up music, sharpen our knives, and eat French toast oatmeal on a roof (perhaps with the exception of a lucky few who ought to invite us over sometime).

So the question is, will you be hauling groceries back from there, are you keeping your money in the neighborhood, or are you sticking to a spot that’s a ride away anyway–just not the latest, most-talked-about one to hit Brooklyn?
