Who’s the Fairest Tree Bed of Them All?
On 4th Avenue, FOFA’s been planting. On 7th, the Keep PS 321 5th Grade Service Team has been on it. All across the Slope, tree beds are getting some much-needed love, and the city wants to celebrate.
MillionTreesNYC is holding a contest via Facebook to find the most beautiful tree beds in the five boroughs. Civic-minded gardeners of all ages can upload pics of tree beds they’ve improved to the MillionTreesNYC page, and the public (or at least, the Facebook fans of MillionTreesNYC) will vote on the winners. There’ll be one overall best-in-show bed per borough, plus honors for Best Use of Color, Most Creative, and Best Group Work. Winners will receive a Home Depot gift card, some MTNYC swag, and an official NYC Parks tree bed plaque displaying the bed’s hard-earned title.
