Who Made Ditmas Park’s Tin Foil Gorilla?

Who Made Ditmas Park’s Tin Foil Gorilla?

One neighborhood mystery was solved today but here’s another one to make you wonder.

Neighbor Julee Whalin sent in this photo of a life-sized gorilla made entirely out of tin foil sitting on a neighbor’s Avenue H porch. If that sounds confusing to you, imagine Julee’s surprise.

“I was on a walk midday and I saw this huge blinding mass on a porch,” wrote Julee. “I also asked the neighbors if they knew what it was about. They had no idea it was there. How can you miss it? It is actual gorilla size mind you. It’s beautiful.”

We put it to you, dear readers, to help us figure out the origins of this silvery beauty. Who is the artist and metallic-ape-enthusiast? Why build a big gorilla? Does this thing come to life at some point? Here’s hoping.
