Are you planning to “go green” this Thursday in celebration of Saint Patrick’s Day? Sheepshead Bay keeps it pretty low key this holiday — but for those looking to join in the festivities or grab some traditional Irish food, some of our local businesses have pretty great specials planned for you.

Buckley’s
2926 Avenue S, between Nostrand and East 29th Street 718-998-4222
Buckley’s is hosting a live Irish band, Kitty Kelly, and traditional step dancing at their holiday party. It costs $48 per person, but comes with a full dinner, that includes options like corn beef and cabbage, shepherd’s pie, salmon, steak and chicken francese. The party is from 6 – 10pm. You must make a reservation by calling the restaurant.

Jay & Lloyd’s Kosher Deli
2718 Avenue U, between East 28th and East 27th Street. 718-891-5298
Jay & Lloyd’s is serving their traditional corn beef and cabbage special on Saint Patrick’s Day. For $20.95, you get seven ounces of meat on the plate. The dinner also comes with cole slaw, bread, pickles and mustard. Chow down!

The Brass Rail
2123 Avenue Z, between East 22nd Street and East 21st Street, 718-646-9238
The brass rail is offering free corn beef and cabbage starting around 7pm. Irish music will also be playing. All you have to do is come for the drinks and smiles. Slàinte!

Wheeler’s
1705 Sheepshead Bay Road, between Voorhies Avenue and Shore Parkway, 718-646-9320
Wheeler’s said they are planning to include corn beef and cabbage on their dinner menu, but they won’t know what the price is until later this evening. Keeping it a mystery, eh? Good lad!

T & D Bakery
2307 Avenue U, between East 24th Street and East 23rd Street, 718-769-2267
T & D bakery will have their much-loved soda bread for sale this Saint Patrick’s Day. The traditional Irish goody is made with flour, buttermilk, baking soda and salt and comes with raisins and caraway seeds. T & D sells theirs for $4.75 and has a variety with no seeds.

Vito’s Bakery
1916 Avenue U, between Ocean Avenue and East 19th Street, 718-332-3577
Vito’s is also offering soda bread on Saint Patrick’s Day, but said they won’t know the price until tomorrow.

So there you have it, go out and have a craic! And don’t forget to check out the The Annual Bay Ridge St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Sunday at noon. The parade route begins at Marine Avenue and runs up 3rd avenue, ending at 67th Street. There’s a viewing stand at 77th Street.
