What's With All the Iowa License Plates?

What's With All the Iowa License Plates?
Iowa License Plates

We often see a large number of out-of-state license places on cars parked in our area, but recently a neighbor noticed something similar about a number of the cars with Iowa plates he saw parked one day on Westminster and Argyle Roads between Ditmas and Dorchester. All the cars appeared to be owned by a leasing company called Lease 4 Less.

The business is located at 783 McDonald Avenue, though there is a parking lot with what seems to be their cars located next to the Hess gas station on 18th Avenue just off of Coney Island Avenue. So how are so many of their cars parked on these local streets? And why would a Brooklyn-based business have so many vehicles that have plates from Iowa?

The 70th Precinct told a neighbor who asked about the issue that as long as they are legally parked, there is nothing they can do. Calls to 311 and the Better Business Bureau have also gotten nowhere, he reports.

We’re no Park Slope, but parking in our area can sometimes be difficult. Anyone know if there’s anything else neighbors can do about something like this?
