What’s The First Thing You’ll Do Once Spring Hits?

What’s The First Thing You’ll Do Once Spring Hits?
Crocuses on Albemarle Road, 2/22/13

All this sub-zero weather over what feels like the last four months has given us plenty of time indoors, working up a sufficient case of cabin fever and fantasizing about everything we could do if it didn’t just hurt to go outside. We want to have a garage sale to get rid of this clutter we find ourselves staring at all the time. We want to burn our pilled, unraveling gloves. We want to feed our well-worn coats to a bunch of sharks.

Which is why we’re so excited about the three days forecasted in the coming week to be at or near 50°F, as well as setting our clocks ahead this Sunday, March 9, for Daylight Saving Time (even if it doesn’t make days automatically warmer, hey, more hours of sun!).

Assuming we can’t find access to the aforementioned sharks, what will we actually do to properly celebrate the end of this atrocious Winter? Realistically, our list includes a trip to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, the Prospect Park Zoo, Coney Island while it’s still empty-ish, Sunset Park for tacos, a water view, and Melody Lanes, several outdoor flea markets in Manhattan, and Greenwood Park.

But what about you–what are you looking forward to most?
