What’s Open & Closed In Ditmas Park This Thanksgiving
Thursday, November 27 is Thanksgiving, and if you’re headed out of town, here’s hoping your travels are safe and easy despite the crummy weather. If you’re sticking around the neighborhood, here’s some information you might need to know:
Government Offices, Parking, And Sanitation
Government offices, post offices, public libraries, courts, and the Department of Motor Vehicles are closed.
There is no mail delivery.
Public schools are closed Thursday, November 27 and Friday, November 28.
Alternate side parking and meters are suspended. No stopping, no standing, and no parking regulations are suspended except where those regulations are in effect seven days a week or at all times.
There is no garbage, recycling, or organics pick-up. If Thursday is your regular garbage or organics collection day, put your items out after 4pm Thursday evening. If Thursday is your regular recycling day, wait until next week to put out your recyclables.
Subways And Buses
While all trains will be running on a Sunday schedule — remember that means no B train.
Libraries
All branches of the Brooklyn Public Library will be closed on Thursday.
Food & Drink
- C Town stores will be open 8am-6pm.
- Downtown Natural Market (1701 Church Avenue on the corner of E 17th Street) will be open 8am-3pm.
- The Flatbush Food Co-op (1415 Cortelyou Rd. between Rugby and Marlborough) will be open 6am-4pm.
- Key Food, the former Met Foods (1610 Cortelyou Road between E 16th and E 17th Streets) will be open 7am-8pm.
- Natural Frontier Market (1104 Cortelyou Road) 8am-11pm.
- Stop & Shop (1009 Flatbush Avenue between Tilden Avenue and Albermarle Road) will be open 6am-5pm.
- TB Ackerson Wine Merchants (1205 Cortelyou Road between Westminster and Argyle Roads) will be open 10:30am-4:30pm
Restaurants, Bars & Shops
- Bar Chord (1008 Cortelyou Road between Stratford Road and Coney Island Avenue) will be open at 4pm.
- The Farm on Adderley (1108 Cortelyou Road between Stratford and Westminster Roads) is offering a three-course prix fixe meal for $55 per person, as well as $25 for children’s plates. - Lark (1007 Church Avenue between E 10th Street and Stratford Road) will be open from 7am-12pm.
- Lea (1022 Cortelyou Road) is offering a Thanksgiving feast for $65 per adult and $30 per child, with seatings at 12:30pm and 3pm. Be sure to make reservations.
- Milk & Honey (1119 Newkirk Avenue on the corner of Westminster Road) will be open from 8am to 4pm or 5pm.
- Pablo’s (43 Newkirk Plaza) will be open from 7am to 4pm.
- Qathra (1112 Cortelyou Road between Stratford and Westminster Roads) will be open from 7am to 2pm or 3pm.

- Sycamore (1118 Cortelyou Rd. between Stratford and Westminster) will open at 6pm.
